And what did our birthday girl desire? She chose a New Mexican menu: Cheese Enchiladas (see post of 10/22/08), pinto beans, green rice ,calabacitas (see post of 10/25/08) and chocolate ganache cake (see post of 10/28/08). Ok, she didn't choose calabacitas; but I thought we needed something besides starch on this menu. The adults would eat them even if she wasn't wild about the dish.
The highlight of the evening was definitely the candle which Kay found for the cake. When lit, it sent out a stream of fireworks which lit the candles on the flower petals. Then the candle turned around and played "Happy Birthday!" I want one for my birthday and I don't even particularly like cake.
